Westwood has been my home since my college days at UCLA where I received my BS, MA and Ph.D. My husband, Mike Metcalfe (recently deceased) and I raised our three children in Area 4 (Westwood Homeowners Association) and were proud parents at Fairburn, Emerson and University High School. My two younger children attended the UCLA Lab School. I have been a parishioner of St Paul the Apostle since my undergrad years and continue to be active in the parish. I had a long teaching career in the Beverly Hills Public Schools and then became a professor at UCLA in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies where I was the Director of the Teacher Education Program. I then became the Director of the Education Department at UCLA Extension.
Now retired, I volunteer at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital and serve on the Hospital Health Auxiliary Board. I also serve on the board of the Westwood Homeowners Association.
I feel very fortunate to live in a beautiful neighborhood with proximity to Westwood Village and UCLA.
I hope to serve the community of Westwood by working within our neighborhoods, and with our schools, churches, synagogues, and temples and with merchants in Westwood to make our community safe, friendly and connected.
